Client: School project

Kvíabryggja is a display typeface I designed. I was supposed to find a typeface and design another one base on that. I choose to use 3 typefaces; NB grotesk, Amarillo and graffiti based handwriting. From those three I picked out the things I liked such as the measurements from NB grotesk, the roughness from Amarillo and the playfulness from the handwriting. With these qualities and my personal touch Kvíabryggja was born.

The typeface is named after an infamous low security prison in Iceland that has hosted some celebrities and government officials. It is dedicated to a friend of mine who is spending some time away from society.
